Does our fear ever really go away?
Does it take a day off once in a while?
What about holidays and weekends?
Does it have a lapse of attention sometimes?
What most of us don’t really understand
Is that fear is like AIDS or a chronic disease
Or like an intruding mother-in-law
No matter how much we wait, it just won’t leave
There’s only one solution to vanquish this foe
It’s the difference between doers and talkers
A deep gulf between dreams and reality
Dividing what we know versus what happens
All of the legends and heroes in history
Who exhibited great courage and faith
Still lived with the same fears you and I have
Starting from the same place you and I stand
But there is one difference that separates them
A curious thing called action they took
Jumping into their fear, in spite of its presence
For courage cannot exist without the foe
What they found is that fear will not weaken
Until after the action is taken
Fear grows strong during times of idleness
But pops like a balloon with the first movement
