The path is clear
I know my goal,
My destination
There you are
The journey begins, and I take the first step
I jump into the mouth of a dragon
I plunge into the heart of a volcano
And burrow to the core of the earth
I sit with pottery as it gets fired
I swim the through the lava in Hawaii
I survive the great Chicago fire
Then I march through the refiner’s fire
The fortresses, the walls, the misjudgments
The insecurities, the fears, the lack of confidence
The anger and frustration, the bitterness, the lack of faith
The lack of love, the defenses, the handcuffs and shackles
Have finally melted away
My iron grasp upon these has disintegrated
I have let go
I come crawling towards the end
With a new strength and vigor
I always knew I had
Now the most intense fire of all burns in my heart
As I have finally made it to you
