It’s what causes a mother to care for her child
Or a friend to console another in despair
It’s why the soldier risks his life on the battlefield
Or why a little girl shares her toy with her sister
It’s what compels people to stop at an accident
And help strangers who stand in need of assistance
It’s why men and women seek out each other
And submit their will to the good of the pair
It’s why two people stay committed to each other
After struggling through years of hardship together
It supplies the courage to vanquish all obstacles
And the faith to bring into existence all dreams
It causes the sword to bow in defeat
Or to disintegrate on contact if attacking
It forces fear to vanish in the night
Running away like a frightened little bunny
It’s the source behind the great causes in the world
And the solution to the planet’s problems as well
It could end all war and cause all hatred to cease
It can even convert bitter foes into friends
Its branches are faith, humility, patience, courage
Hope, diligence, perseverance, and understanding
It’s the force responsible for all of creation
And for everything that exists and dwells in this world
A force that upholds the natural laws of physics
And governs the principles of the material universe
It’s the process through which knowledge is acquired
And the manner in which all action is taken
It’s the power that fuels all creative endeavors
The source from which all inspiration is drawn
It permitted the discovery of Einstein’s theory
And provided the means to travel to the moon
It’s the process behind the blossoming of a flower
And the development of the fetus in the womb
It is the only method to break a bad habit
Or to stay the course without turning aside
It draws all men under the power of its command
And calls down angels from heaven to assist
It causes people to forego their selfishness
Recognizing the strength in serving the group
It’s what helps all people overcome their aloneness
Amidst their worries of dying forgotten
It holds the power to heal all suffering
It’s how we transform our weaknesses to strengths
It produces the path that allays forgiveness
The ability with which we see our mistakes
It’s what causes the soul to open up and change
To break down all walls and misunderstandings
It’s what carries us through during times of desperation
The power compelling a soul to endure
It’s what helps us to accept those who hate us
Enduring persecution without condemnation
It handles adversity head on and with ease
Giving us confidence and calm assurance
It’s the vehicle through which all goals are attained
And the manner through which art is created
It reigns absolute, the supreme law of the cosmos
Without which all things would waste and wither away
All other forces must bow in its presence
Subject entirely to its dictate and conscience
It’s a power residing within each one of us
An endless wellspring of energy and strength
It is the power to act and the power to choose
It’s the fusion of connecting one soul to another
It emerges victorious from every battle
Destroying all things that rise up against it
It is the purpose of being, the reason for living
The ultimate happiness and fulfillment in life
Life becomes easy with its utilization
But without it, ensues misery and frustration
When employed, it carries liberty and freedom
But without it, comes captivity and chains
This magnificent blessing, this transcendent power
The keys to access with which we have all been bestowed
Is the most glorious gift, a gift from above
